For the first time, one of Kia&rsquo;s battery-electric vehicles will be sold as both a hatchback and a sedan. Unfortunately, Kia will only sell the EV4 as a sedan in the United States, but some markets will receive both versions.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic\"><\/div>\n<p>        <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/KIA-EV4-0.jpg\" data-type=\"inarticle-image-block\"> <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\">\n<p>                    <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"lazy \" src=\"\" alt=\" Hatchbacks And Sedans Fight Back As Kia Challenges SUV Domination\" width=\"2500\" height=\"1407\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/KIA-EV4-0-1024x576.jpg\" data-type=\"inarticle-image\" \/><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>        <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>Then there&rsquo;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/kia-k4\/\">new Kia K4<\/a>, which will no doubt sell in higher numbers than the EV4. Launched last year as a sedan, the K4 family recently welcomed a new hatchback version. While it more closely resembles an estate than a normal hatch, it should massively broaden the appeal of the model. Things won&rsquo;t stop there as Kia is also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2025\/05\/kias-k4-is-bringing-the-want-factor-back-to-affordable-wagons\/\">developing a proper K4 estate<\/a>, and it should arrive later this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strong Demand in Europe, But Competition Grows<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>While recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.autocar.co.uk\/car-news\/new-cars\/exclusive-kia-commits-hatchbacks-wave-golf-rivals\">speaking<\/a> with Autocar, Kia executive vice president Ted Lee highlighted the &ldquo;big volume&rdquo; potential for hatchbacks in Europe. He pointed to Kia&rsquo;s strong footing in the region but acknowledged growing competition, particularly from emerging Chinese brands that are making the market &ldquo;more difficult.&rdquo; He added that &ldquo;We have to strengthen the advantages of Kia in the market.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/2025\/02\/kias-best-selling-vehicle-in-january-was-a-sedan\/\">The new Kia K4<\/a> Hatchback will land in US dealerships later this year.
