Police chases can end with swift arrests and clean takedowns or, in some cases, with a trail of wrecked cruisers and a lot of questions. That was the scene in the UK last week, when a pursuit involving a BMW ended with five damaged police cars and seven injured officers. However, at 2:27 a.m., the BMW and five police vehicles collided, covering the A1 motorway in debris.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/police\/\">Local police<\/a> are investigating the crash to try and find out why the chase went so horribly wrong. The damage done to some of the police vehicles is extensive. At least two Volvo V60s used by the authorities were damaged in the crash. What appears to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/vauxhall\/\">Vauxhall<\/a> estate was also left with significant damage and looks to have been rear-ended.<\/p>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article\"><\/div>\n<div id=\"taboola-mid-article-thumbnails-organic\"><\/div>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>A fourth police car was also destroyed and pictured on the side of the highway with the tailgate and doors missing. It appears that first responders had to cut off the estate&rsquo;s roof to safely extricate the police officers. Other vehicles damaged in the incident include a dark grey F10 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carscoops.com\/tag\/bmw-5-series\/\">BMW 5-Series<\/a>, and a sixth vehicle, which is difficult to identify, was left a crumpled mess.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Investigations Continue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Authorities have arrested a man in his 20s who was driving the BMW 5-Series on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. His female passenger was also arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting dangerous driving.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Five ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic, and members from the hazardous area response team were sent to the site of the crash.
